7k run in scenic Guildford

Service Description

If you are new to Guildford or just want an enjoyable, easy run then we have a treat for you because we will be happy to lead a magical mystery, geeky history tour of Guildford. We’ll explore the castle, the High Street, Pewley Downs, St. Catherine’s Hill and the river. We’ll find out how Guildford got its name, what the town’s connection is with Alice in Wonderland, the history of the clock in the High Street, why there’s a semaphore tower on Pewley Hill, and where the secret sculpture dedicated to Alan Turing is. And so much more. As unbelievable as it sounds, in the space of 60 short minutes you’ll learn pretty much everything there is to know about Guildford. This is a nice, chatty, easy paced 7k run and not one to be missed if you want to discover a little bit more about the town or if you just want an easy, enjoyable run. The route is a mix of on and off-road but road shoes will be fine unless there has been a period of rain leading up to the day.
